The aurora seen during the late evening on 20th April and into the early hours of the 21st April might be one of the last ones visible before the daylight this far north takes over.
Generally it was the southern cameras that got the longest clear views but I have included the others for comparison and to provide a different perspective and… the calming effect of the setting moon.
It is a lengthy affair though as it shows the entire event from a quiet arc to an active one before it all merges with the daylight but it typical of events seen in Shetland.
Despite the new LED lighthouse beams from Sumburgh Head and the airport lights our aurora cams still performed well.
